About the Event
Foraging & Wildcrafting Across The Seasons! - Adult Traineeship
Foraging can seem attractive yet daunting to many, we have developed this wonderful, seasonal foraging & wildcrafting traineeship to help those interested in the natural world, 'pierce the green veil' by tuning into different plant and fungal habitats and identification cues.
By practicing a range of hands-on activities, participants will enhance their understanding of what wild things are good to harvest when, and how to prepare and store them in different ways over the year. Learning how to do this mindfully, sustainably, and safely!
As we slow down to connect with seasonal rhythms and abundances, we too can learn to find a better rhythm within ourselves, appreciating what may have been overlooked before.
This Traineeship will have something for the beginner as well as the expert.
Depending on the time of year and plant/ fungi abundance, participants will learn about and prepare different remedies, crafts, drinks, and food stuffs from sap, leaves, roots, twigs, buds, flowers, berries, and medicinal fungi at the beautiful Cardross Estate, Stirlingshire (FK8 3JY).

TESTIMONIAL
Carol Murdoch, Founder of Love Outdoor Learning -"We have been lucky enough to attend a number of Herbal Homestead courses. The woodland and gardens at their base is beautiful, enticing you in with a mix of trees, plants and fungi that will capture your imagination and take you back to simpler times. Foraging Through the Seasons has been completed two years in a row, with Lauren developing the learning and reflecting on previous learning each time. I started this with little confidence about my trees and plants but now I can identify them, tell you what they are used for and even share some folklore about them. Lauren really does teach so much.Lauren's teaching style is relaxed and welcoming. As she chats, and encourages you to share your thoughts and feelings, you simply don't realise quite how much you are learning! She opened my eyes to foraging, encouraging me to looks, see, smell and taste and helping me turn my finds into food, drinks, herbal remedies and skin care treats! Lauren has also delivered private workshops for us and our participants enjoyed it just as much as us - taking their learnings and sharing them with others. I would highly recommend Lauren"
